Sunshine Automotive is a member of the family-owned Peter Warren Group of Companies which is based in Sydney NSW. The Peter Warren Group commenced operations in 1957 as a Volkswagon franchise and has grown to be one of the largest organisations within the motor vehicle industry. They now operate as Peter Warren Automotive, Macarthur Automotive. Franchises now include Ford, FPV, Suzuki, Hyundai, Mercedes Benz, Toyota, Kia, Honda, Volvo, Jaguar, Peugeot and Aston Martin. The group now employs over 600 personnel throughout NSW and QLD.
In April 1989, The Sunshine Automotive purchased the former operations of Trio Ford located on the corner of Nerang and Rawlins Streets in Southport, and commenced trading on those premises as Sunshine Ford on May 1, 1989.
As a commitment to the motor vehicle industry, Sunshine Automotive invested over six million dollars in the new Ford franchise and plans were made to relocate to 292 Nerang Road, Southport.
After choosing the most attractive setting to compliment our corporate image, architects were assigned to design this magnificent new building. The new premises were completed in approximately nine months and the new Sunshine Ford and Daihatsu was officially opened by the Mayor of the Gold Coast, Hon. Lex Bell, on the 9th of October, 1990.
In December 1996 Sunshine Automotive started trading as Sunshine KIA in addition to Sunshine Ford.
December 2000 saw the acquisition of Southport Motors adding Jaguar and Aston Martin then in 2002 we also added Volvo to the Sunshine Automotive portfolio.
Today, The Sunshine Group is proud to be one of the most successful motor vehicle dealerships in South East Queensland and employs approximately 100 staff members.
